About Joe

" I have always loved golf...

and was fortunate enough to be introduced to the game of golf when I was seven years old. My dad would take me to the local playing field with a cut down 7 iron, hitting shots over the crossbar of one of the goal mouths. From those first moments I was hooked.

I joined a golf club when I was nine years old and gained my first handicap in that same year.

I played nearly every day or whenever I could persuade my parents to give me a lift. I managed to keep improving and I captained the junior section of my golf club and became the youngest ever club champion by the age of sixteen. I was also fortunate to be spotted by county coaches and was involved in the surrey first team for seven years captaining both the Junior's and the Men's sides.

Being a touring pro was always my dream but due to unfortunate circumstances it never transpired. In a way I feel lucky because it opened my eyes and has enabled me to discover my real dream, to pass on my experience and knowledge with others.

In light of that, I am now a fully qualified golf coach and member of the World Golf Teachers Federation with a level 3 coaching diploma and ASSET award.

Ever since my early days I had an instant love and fascination for the game and everything that came with it, from the incredible satisfaction of striking the golf ball solidly and hitting the exact shot you wanted, to being in the fresh air and interacting with people from all walks of life.

I am so passionate about this game, and I feel that unfortunately coaching as it stands is substandard and complacent and is not totally focused on the student.

I believe all golfers, from complete beginners through to top players, deserve the same quality instruction and the total dedication of their coach. This is the driving force behind why I am a professional golf coach as I rarely saw this in all my years of playing.

...I want to make a difference. "
